Treasure Chest Thursday — 1696 Marriage of Joseph Farwell (1670-1740) and Hannah Colburn in Chelmsford, Massachusetts

It’s Treasure Chest Thursday – an opportunity to look in my digital picture information to see what treasures I can discover for my household historical past and family tree musings.

The treasure at this time is the 1696 marriage entry for Joseph Farwell and Hannah Colburn in Torrey’s New England Marriages e book:

The wedding  entry is the final entry on the web page:

The wedding document transcription is:

“FARWELL, Joseph (1670-_ & Hannah COLBORN/COLBURN; 23 Jan 1695/6; Chelmsford {Farwell (1929) 50; Colburn-Coburn 17; Discovered 29; Reg. 35:275, 84.4, 109.151}”

The supply quotation for this document is:

“New England Marriages to 1700,” on-line database with digital photographs, (New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2008, web page 531, Joseph Farwell and Hannah Colburn marriage entry, 23 January 1695/6.

That is an entry in a digitized printed e book for marriages in Massachusetts, which was collected by Torrey from city document books and different information.  It’s a Spinoff Supply with Secondary Info and Direct proof of the wedding of Joseph Farwell and Hannah Colburn.

Joseph Farwell (1670-1740) was the son of Joseph and Hannah (Discovered) Farwell of Chelmsford.  He married
Hannah Colburn (1673-1741), daughter of Thomas and Hannah (Rolfe) Colburn, on 23 January 1695/6 in Chelmsford. Joseph and Hannah (Colburn) Farwell had ten youngsters.

Joseph and Hannah (Colburn) Farwell are my seventh great-grandparents, via their daughter Mary Farwell (1709-1804), who married  James Stone (1702-1783), in 1726 in Groton, Massachusetts.
