The family tree neighborhood was shocked and saddened on Could eleventh when the information got here on Fb that our buddy and colleague Russ Worthington had handed away, maybe from a coronary heart assault. I’ve recognized Russ for about 14 years and loved his presence, his knowledge, his thoughtfulness, and his work. He was a sort, good and delicate man. Russ was a Coast Guard and Vietnam veteran, and was excellent – and methodical and exact – working with computer systems, family tree and software program. Based on FamilySearch Household Tree, Russ was my tenth cousin with Bridget (Scudder?) (Verry) Giles (c1600-1680) our frequent ancestor – really my cousin, Russ!
I posted this on Fb on Could 11:
“I’m so unhappy to listen to of the passing of my expensive buddy and colleague Russ Worthington in the present day. What a shock. Russ was a wonderful, meticulous, educated and sensible genealogist. Extra importantly, he was a advantageous buddy, and instructor, and Zoom host. We roamed throughout downtown Salt Lake Metropolis throughout RootsTech and I at all times loved his firm. Cousin Russ will at all times be remembered by all who participated in Mondays With Myrt and attended conferences and seminars. Russ was selfless – he was at all times prepared to assist somebody – he helped me with New Jersey analysis and cemetery photographs and tried mightily to unravel my Knapp brick wall. Russ was one in all a sort, and I’m proud to have know him for over 12 years. The picture under is with Pat Richley-Erickson as a result of it is becoming, and since I am at all times taking photographs and resisting being in them. Relaxation in peace, Russ. I ship Linda and my condolences and like to Patti Applebey-Worthington and household.”
I discovered that I did not have many photographs of me with Russ, so my Fb pals helped out:
