Monday Genea-Pourri – Week Ending 29 March 2021

 Listed below are the highlights of my household historical past and family tree associated actions over the previous week:

1)  Attended immediately’s Mondays With Myrt webinar.  The panel mentioned my Better of the Genea-Blogs, Liv’s “misplaced sailor” thriller, Buffalo Troopers repatriation utilizing DNA testing, Findmypast parish registers, the Goldie Mae app, NERGC convention, Tony Proctor’s SVG program, orphan trains, Pat’s steamer trunk, the GPC sale, and Gena’s weblog publish.

2)  Watched “Reporting on Research: Standards Encourage Better Communication” by Nancy A. Peters on Household Tree Webinars.

3)  Watched “Finding the Elusive Maiden Name” by Ann Lawthers on the FamilySearch YouTube channel (from RootsTech 2021).

4)  Wrote and posted a biographical sketch of my 7th great-grandfather #586 Joshua Fletcher  (1645-1713) of Concord and Chelsmford, Massachusetts  for my 52 Ancestors publish on Friday. 

6)  AncestryDNA added 120 new DNA matches this previous week, with three new ThruLines, and  MyHeritage added 20 new DNA matches.   Reviewed the brand new DNA matches on  AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.  Added Notes to 16 extra AncestryDNA matches with cM values, relationships and identified shared ancestors, and added three new ThruLines to RootsMagic. 

7)  Created spreadsheets for my MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe DNA matches to maintain observe of match data, together with identified widespread ancestors, in widespread with, in DNA Painter, in RootsMagic, and pertinent notes.  

8)  There have been a number of periods working within the RootsMagic software program program to match with and replace FamilySearch Household Tree profiles for Seaver households and my ancestral households, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I’ve matched 41,267 of my RootsMagic individuals with FamilySearch Household Tree profiles (up 133).

9)  Used Internet Hints and Report Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch so as to add content material and supply citations to my RootsMagic profiles.  I now have 62,442 individuals in my RootsMagic file (up 153), and 135,532 supply citations (up 419).   I TreeShared with my Ancestry Member Tree twice this week updating 350 profiles, and I resolved 1,686 Ancestry Hints.  I’ve fallen behind on the Ancestry Report Hints with 149,536 to be resolved, however I work on them nearly every day. 

10)  Wrote 15 Genea-Musings weblog posts final week, of which two had been a press launch.  The most seen publish final week was Amanuensis Monday — 1684 Will of George Wheeler (1606-1687) of Concord, Massachusetts with over 380 views.  

11)  We’re nonetheless nice right here on the Genea-cave, hunkered down and never going out a lot after Week 54 of COVID-19 isolation.  I went to the grocery retailer on Monday and Friday, and it wasn’t too busy.  I went to my root canal appointment on Tuesday, and now want one other.  We watched a number of NCAA basketball video games.  We went masked to out of doors church on Sunday (first service since November) and talked to and fist bumped some associates.  I acquired the taxes completed, and tried however didn’t get Padres tickets for the primary homestand.  Apart from that, it was stay-at-home on the pc doing (primarily) family tree, consuming, sleeping, cleansing, cooking, and somewhat yard work (like selecting weeds and  leaves).
