Monday Genea-Pourri – Week Ending 21 June 2021

 Listed below are the highlights of my household historical past and family tree associated actions over the previous week:

1)  Hosted the Chula Vista Genealogical Society (CVGS) Analysis Group Assembly in a Zoom Assembly with 18 attendees final Wednesday.  Reported on the AncestryDNA new characteristic so as to add your identified relationship to DNA matches, Jim Bartlett’s weblog publish on discovering a match’s ancestry, Jonny Perl’s weblog publish on how every DNA web site could possibly be higher, what I do to establish frequent ancestors of my DNA matches, and a abstract and demonstration of the free GEDmatch instruments.

2)  Watched the Household Tree Webinar on Turning Raw Information into Evidence: Tips for Drawing and Explaining Conclusions” by Jay Fonkert.

3)  Wrote and posted a biographical sketch of my 7th great-grandfather #608 Nathan Brigham (1671-1747) Marlborough, Massachusetts  for my 52 Ancestors publish on Friday. 

5)  AncestryDNA added 88 new DNA matches this previous week, with 1 new ThruLines, and  MyHeritage added 12 new DNA matches.   Reviewed the brand new DNA matches on  AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.  Added Notes to 1 extra AncestryDNA matches with cM values, relationships and identified shared ancestors, and added 0 ThruLines to RootsMagic.  

6)  There have been a number of classes working within the RootsMagic software program program to match with and replace FamilySearch Household Tree profiles for Seaver households and my ancestral households, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I’ve matched 42,913 of my RootsMagic individuals with FamilySearch Household Tree profiles (up 266).

7)  Used Internet Hints and Report Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch so as to add content material and supply citations to my RootsMagic profiles.  I now have 64,004 individuals in my RootsMagic file (up 236), and 139.256 supply citations (up 230).   I TreeShared with my Ancestry Member Tree twice this week updating 390 profiles, and I resolved 1,415 Ancestry Hints.  I’ve fallen behind on the Ancestry Report Hints with 152,457 to be resolved, however I work on them virtually day by day. 

8)  Wrote 16 Genea-Musings weblog posts final week, of which one was a press launch.  The most considered publish final week was What’s Coming soon to Ancestry? with over 493 views.  

9)  We’re nonetheless wonderful right here on the Genea-cave, hunkered down and never going out a lot after Week 66 of COVID-19 isolation.  The Padres season continues, and they’re now 42-32 (4-3 the previous week).  We watched 6 video games on TV, and attended the Saturday sport with the Reds.  I went to the grocery retailer on Monday and Friday.  I went to the retired Rohr Engineer’s lunch on Thursday and had a enjoyable time seeing my colleagues and telling tales after 15 months of lockdown.  Sunday was Father’s Day and I received See’s sweet from Linda.  We went to indoor church on Sunday and there are just a few extra in-person attendees.  Aside from that, it was stay-at-home on the pc doing (primarily) family tree, plus consuming, sleeping, laundry, cleansing, cooking, and slightly yard work.
