Monday Genea-Pourri – Week Ending 10 May 2021

 Listed below are the highlights of my household historical past and family tree associated actions over the previous week:

1)  Hosted the Chula Vista Genealogical Society (CVGS) Board Assembly in a Zoom Assembly final Wednesday, and reported on the E-newsletter, Analysis Group and DNA curiosity Group conferences. Wrote, edited and distributed through e mail the Might 2021 CVGS E-newsletter.

2)  Attended the San Diego Genealogical Society Program assembly on Saturday in a Zoom webinar.  Nicka Sewell-Smith introduced “Reverse Family tree and DNA and Tracing the Residing” and The Household DNA Challenge.”


3)  Attended in the present day’s Mondays With Myrt webinar.  The panel mentioned Japanese analysis, hybrid society conferences, SAR coverage on DNA, Prussian document web sites, an Excel spreadsheet analysis tracker, my 1818 Sever deed, Google Photographs and Lens, the Behold Microsoft drawback, Russ’s FTM Person movies, and attendee Q&A.

4)  Wrote and posted a biographical sketch of my 7th great-grandfather #594 John Wilson (1673-after 1717) of Woburn, Massachusetts  for my 52 Ancestors publish on Friday. 

5)  Transcribed a probate document in Amanuensis Monday — 1818 Deed of Heman Ray to Benjamin Sever (1791-1825) in Gardner, Mass. in the present day.


6)  AncestryDNA added 118 new DNA matches this previous week, with 0 new ThruLines, and  MyHeritage added 15 new DNA matches.   Reviewed the brand new DNA matches on  AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.  Added Notes to 11 extra AncestryDNA matches with cM values, relationships and recognized shared ancestors.

7)  There have been a number of classes working within the RootsMagic software program program to match with and replace FamilySearch Household Tree profiles for Seaver households and my ancestral households, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I’ve matched 41,969 of my RootsMagic individuals with FamilySearch Household Tree profiles (up 63).

8)  Used Net Hints and File Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch so as to add content material and supply citations to my RootsMagic profiles.  I now have 63,052 individuals in my RootsMagic file (up 52), and 137,246 supply citations (up 328).   I TreeShared with my Ancestry Member Tree twice this week updating 199 profiles, and I resolved 1,234 Ancestry Hints.  I’ve fallen behind on the Ancestry File Hints with 150,270 to be resolved, however I work on them nearly each day. 

9)  Wrote 17 Genea-Musings weblog posts final week, of which one was a press launch.  The most considered publish final week was Researcher Beware – Sometimes the AncestryDNA ThruLines Are Wrong with over 674 views.  

10)  We’re nonetheless tremendous right here on the Genea-cave, hunkered down and never going out a lot after Week 60 of COVID-19 isolation.  The Padres season continues, and they’re now 19-16, and we went on Tuesday night time – they misplaced to Pirates.  We watched the opposite 5 video games on TV.  I went to the grocery retailer on Monday and Friday.  I suffered via a 3 hour dental session on Tuesday on 5 tooth – nearly carried out now, simply want the bridge and crown put in.  We went out to dinner for Mom’s Day to In ‘n’ Out.  Aside from that, it was stay-at-home on the pc doing (primarily) family tree, plus consuming, sleeping, cleansing, cooking, and a little bit yard work.
