Genealogy Pot-Pourri – Week Ending 23 August 2021

Listed here are the highlights of my household historical past and family tree associated actions over the previous week.

1)  Hosted the Chula Vista Genealogical Society DNA Curiosity Group Assembly on Wednesday with 25 in attendance.  I reported on the FamilyTreeDNA up to date web site, the MyHeritage characteristic to substantiate or reject Idea of Relativity matches, and the Genetic Affairs AutoKinship characteristic.

4)  AncestryDNA added 40 new DNA matches this previous week, with two new ThruLines and  MyHeritage added 10 new DNA matches.   Reviewed the brand new DNA matches on  AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.  Added Notes to 2 extra AncestryDNA match with cM values, relationships and identified shared ancestors, and added 0 ThruLines to RootsMagic.  Found out the frequent ancestor for yet another FamilyTreeDNA with a DNA Match and reported it in One More Common Ancestor for an FTDNA Match Found!

5)  Ran a brand new AutoCluster for MyHeritageDNA and 23andMe and reviewed the outcomes.

6)  There have been a number of classes working within the RootsMagic software program program to match with and replace FamilySearch Household Tree profiles for Seaver households and my ancestral households, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I’ve matched 43,925 of my RootsMagic individuals with FamilySearch Household Tree profiles (up 223).

7)  Used Internet Hints and Document Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch so as to add content material and supply citations to my RootsMagic profiles.  I now have 65,071  individuals in my RootsMagic file (up 231), and 141,142 supply citations (up 147).   I TreeShared with my Ancestry Member Tree two instances the previous week updating 410 profiles, and I resolved 1379 Ancestry Hints.  I’ve fallen behind on the Ancestry Document Hints with 156,103 to be resolved, however I work on them nearly every day.

8)  Wrote 15 Genea-Musings weblog posts the previous week, of which one was a press launch.  The most considered put up the previous week was Genealogy News and Education Bytes — Tuesday, 17 August 2021  with over 189 views.

9)  I’m nonetheless fantastic right here on the Genea-cave, hunkered down and never going out a lot after Week 75 of COVID-19 isolation.  Linda is at a reminiscence care and expert nursing facility in Chula Vista 7 miles from residence and I go to her for an hour each day.  Her new TV was connected to cable on Tuesday and he or she liked having the ability to watch the sport present channel and Padres video games.  The Padres season continues, and the Padres at the moment are 68-58 (1-5 the previous week).  I went to the grocery retailer on Monday and Friday. Aside from that, it was stay-at-home on the pc doing (primarily) family tree, plus consuming, sleeping, laundry, cleansing, cooking, and just a little yard work.
