Genealogy Pot-Pourri – Week Ending 20 September 2021

1)  Hosted and led the Chula Vista Genealogical Society DNA Curiosity Group Assembly on Wednesday on Zoom with 18 in attendance.  We mentioned AncestryDNA’s ethnicity estimates, the delay in new AncestryDNA matches, the FamlyTreeDNA enhancements, the Leeds Methodology, my Leeds Methodology chart for FamilyTreeDNA, and the Genetic Affairs AutoKinship charts.  Within the second hour, we had a Q&A session.

2)  Attended the San Diego Genealogical Society British Isles Curiosity Group assembly on Saturday morning.  Colin Whitney offered details about land and property data in Scotland and Eire.  

3)  Attended the Whittier Are Genealogical Society program assembly on Saturday afternoon.  Gena Philibert-Ortega offered “We’re Associated to George Washington?: Proving Household Tales.”

4)  Participated in immediately’s Mondays With Myrt webinar.  We mentioned Dave’s DNA quandary, Liv’s weblog put up on Norway baby wanderers, Frank’s new weblog and German maps, Pat’s problem of 1 identify, two individuals?, My AncestryDNA ethnicity and Leeds Methodology chart, and Hillary’s feedback on the Frith assortment on Findmypast.


6)  Printed a family tree biography of  seventh great-grandfather #620 John Maynard (1661-1731)  of Marlborough, Massachusetts.

7)  Up to date my Leeds Methodology chart for AncestryDNA matches and made a chart for FamilyTreeDNA matches.


8)  AncestryDNA added 80 new DNA matches this previous week, with no new ThruLines and  MyHeritage added 16 new DNA matches.   Reviewed the brand new DNA matches on  AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.  Added Notes to 0 extra AncestryDNA match and 1 MyHeritageDNA match with cM values, relationships and identified shared ancestors, and added no new ThruLines to RootsMagic.  

9)  There have been a number of classes working within the RootsMagic software program program to match with and replace FamilySearch Household Tree profiles for Seaver households and my ancestral households, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I’ve matched 44,596 of my RootsMagic individuals with FamilySearch Household Tree profiles (up 173).

10)  Used Internet Hints and Report Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch so as to add content material and supply citations to my RootsMagic profiles.  I now have 65,811  individuals in my RootsMagic file (up 196), and 142,246 supply citations (up 164).   I TreeShared with my Ancestry Member Tree two instances the previous week updating 368 profiles, and I resolved 619 Ancestry Hints.  I’ve fallen behind on the Ancestry Report Hints with 158,505 to be resolved, however I work on them virtually day by day.
