Genealogy Pot-Pourri – Week Ending 17 January 2022

 Listed below are the highlights of my household historical past and family tree associated actions over the previous week.

1)  Hosted and moderated the Chula Vista Genealogical Society Analysis Group Assembly on Zoom with 34 in attendance. I reported on upcoming CVGS conferences, Ancestry’s subscription charges, the 1921 Census of England & Wales, the Nationwide Archives indexing of 1950 U.S. census, the MyHeritage listing view for Pictures, the MyHeritage and FamilySearch 2021 evaluations, the RootsTech 2022 convention, the Legacy Household Tree Webinar schedule for 2022, my end-of-year weblog compilations, and the analysis for Betty Noad’s dad and mom.

2)  Attended the Mondays With Myrt session immediately on Zoom.  We mentioned Martin Luther King day, True’s podcast interview, Michael Neill’s queries submit, the FamilySearch Wki, the Fb group listing, Liv’s field from 1813, the WikiTree Join-a-thon, Yvette’s submit about Proof, my Brigham deed and biography, and Discover a Grave memorials.

5)  Downloaded the MyHeritageDNA match listing and the shared section listing for additional work.

6)  Created PDF 6-generation descendant studies of all of my father’s identified 4th great-grandfathers for additional use.  Have to do my mom’s now. 
7) AncestryDNA added 70 new DNA matches this previous week, and there was two new ThruLines. MyHeritage added 3 new DNA matches. Reviewed the brand new DNA matches on AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe. Researched and added notes for six AncestryDNA matches.

8)  There have been a number of classes working within the RootsMagic software program program to match with and replace FamilySearch Household Tree profiles for Seaver households and my ancestral households, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I’ve matched 46,921 of my RootsMagic individuals with FamilySearch Household Tree profiles (up 219).

9) Used Net Hints and Document Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch so as to add content material and supply citations to my RootsMagic profiles. I now have 68,361 individuals in my RootsMagic file (up 226 from final week), and 143,924 supply citations (up 44). I TreeShared 348 new or modified profiles with my Ancestry Member Tree, and I resolved 848 Ancestry Hints. My latest Ancestry Member Tree has Ancestry Document Hints with 23,839 to be resolved, however I work on them nearly each day.  

10) Wrote 17 Genea-Musings weblog posts the previous week, of which two have been a press launch. Essentially the most considered submit the previous week was Saturday Night Genealogy Fun – 1940 U.S. Census Last Name Numbers with over 179 views.


11) I’m nonetheless superb right here on the Genea-Cave, hunkered down and never going out a lot after Week 96 of COVID-19 semi-isolation. Linda is at a reminiscence care and expert nursing facility in Chula Vista 7 miles from house and I go to her for an hour every single day – we normally play Uno and he or she wins about half the time.  Now I’ve to have a current COVID take a look at to be able to go to, and missed two days final week.  I went to the grocery retailer on Monday and Friday.
