Genealogy Pot-Pourri – Week Ending 16 August 2021

 Listed here are the highlights of my household historical past and family tree associated actions over the previous week.

1)  Hosted the Chula Vista Genealogical Society Analysis Group Assembly on Wednesday with 37 in attendance.  I reported on the Ancestry.com Phrases and circumstances kerfuffle, enhancements to the MyHeritage on-line household tree, the Webtember Household Tree Webinars, and my weekly amanuensis Monday posts.



3)  AncestryDNA added 70 new DNA matches this previous week, with one new ThruLines and  MyHeritage added 20 new DNA matches.   Reviewed the brand new DNA matches on  AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.  Added Notes to 1 extra AncestryDNA match with cM values, relationships and identified shared ancestors, and added 0 ThruLines to RootsMagic.  

4)  There have been a number of classes working within the RootsMagic software program program to match with and replace FamilySearch Household Tree profiles for Seaver households and my ancestral households, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I’ve matched 43,702 of my RootsMagic individuals with FamilySearch Household Tree profiles (up 53).

5)  Used Internet Hints and File Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch so as to add content material and supply citations to my RootsMagic profiles.  I now have 64,840  individuals in my RootsMagic file (up 58), and 140,995 supply citations (up 242).   I TreeShared with my Ancestry Member Tree two occasions the previous week updating 117 profiles, and I resolved 666 Ancestry Hints.  I’ve fallen behind on the Ancestry File Hints with 155,140 to be resolved, however I work on them virtually every day. 

6)  Wrote 13 Genea-Musings blog posts the previous week, of which three had been a press launch.  The most seen submit the previous week was Carringers in the News — Martin Carringer Dies in 1906 in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania with over 411 views.   

7)  I’m nonetheless wonderful right here on the Genea-cave, hunkered down and never going out a lot after Week 74 of COVID-19 isolation.  Linda is at a reminiscence care and expert nursing facility in Chula Vista 7 miles from house and I go to her for an hour daily.  Daughter Lori and grandson Logan came over on Wednesday by way of Saturday on trip, and helped adorn Linda’s room.  Her new wheelchair was delivered on Friday advert she has been out within the Nice Room daily since.  The Padres season continues, and the Padres are actually 67-53 (3-4 the previous week).  I went to the grocery retailer on Monday and Friday. Apart from that, it was stay-at-home on the pc doing (primarily) family tree, plus consuming, sleeping, laundry, cleansing, cooking, and a little bit yard work.
