Genealogy Pot-Pourri – Week Ending 11 October 2021

 Listed below are the highlights of my household historical past and family tree associated actions over the previous week.

1)  Hosted the Chula Vista Genealogical Society Board Assembly on Wednesday on Zoom.  I reported on the publication, analysis group and DNA group actions.  Wrote, edited and emailed the “CVGS Household Historical past Gazette” Publication for October.

2)  Attended the San Diego Genealogical Society seventy fifth Anniversary assembly on Zoom.  Judy G. Russell offered “Making a Federal Case Out Of It” and “By means of the Golden Door” and CeCe Moore offered “Genetic Family tree Case Research from the PBS Tv Sequence “Discovering Your Roots”. and “The Energy of Investigative Genetic Family tree to Remedy Chilly Instances and Determine John and Jane Does.”
3)  Participated in right this moment’s Mondays With Myrt Zoom webinar.  We mentioned Indigenous Peoples Day, the “MyHeritage Idea of Household Relativity” replace, the 6 BCG webinars on Household Tree Webinars, my 52 Ancestors publish, preserving your work product, Diana’s 1930 census breakthrough, the 1950 Census genie collection, FamilySearch search modifications, and miscellaneous household historical past notes.

4) Labored some extra in RootsMagic 8 on my desktop laptop.  Acquired a key from RootsMagic and that labored.  Disconnected my Ancestry tree from RootsMagic 7.  FamilySearch Household Tree interplay works, as do internet hints for FamlySearch, MyHeritage and Findmypast.  The Ancestry TreeShare doesn’t work, in all probability as a result of my tree is way bigger than 15,000 perosons – there isn’t any clarification for this thus far.  Ancestry Internet Hints do not work both since I can’t hook up with my current Ancestry tree.  

7)  AncestryDNA added 42 new DNA matches this previous week, with one new ThruLines and  MyHeritage added 17 new DNA matches with 4 new Idea of Household Relativity.   Reviewed the brand new DNA matches on  AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.  Added Notes to 1 extra AncestryDNA match with cM values, relationships and recognized shared ancestors, and added one new ThruLines to RootsMagic.  Added a word to 1 MyHeritage DNA match and added one ToFR to RootsMagic.

8)  There have been a number of periods working within the RootsMagic software program program to match with and replace FamilySearch Household Tree profiles for Seaver households and my ancestral households, with occasional additions to the RootsMagic profiles. I’ve matched 44,951 of my RootsMagic individuals with FamilySearch Household Tree profiles (up 57).

9)  Used Internet Hints and Report Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch so as to add content material and supply citations to my RootsMagic profiles.  I now have 66,219 individuals in my RootsMagic file (up 101), and 142,856 supply citations (up 150).   I didn’t TreeShare with my Ancestry Member Tree, and I resolved 432 Ancestry Hints.  I’ve fallen behind on the Ancestry Report Hints with 158,365 to be resolved, however I work on them nearly day by day. 

10)  Wrote 17 Genea-Musings weblog posts the previous week, of which two were a press launch.  The most considered publish the previous week was  Exploring RootsMagic 8 – #1 – the Main Screens  with over 394 views.   

11)  I’m nonetheless superb right here on the Genea-cave, hunkered down and never going out a lot after Week 82 of COVID-19 isolation.  Linda is at a reminiscence care and expert nursing facility in Chula Vista 7 miles from house and I go to her for an hour each day.  The bodily therapists got here twice final week and have her up and strolling a bit with the walker.  Tami came over on Sunday and introduced lemon meringue pie and peanut brittle for her.  The Aztecs and Chargers received their video games.   I went to the grocery retailer on Monday and Friday. Apart from that, it was stay-at-home on the pc doing (primarily) family tree, plus consuming, sleeping, laundry, cleansing, cooking, watching TV information and sports activities, studying books, napping, and slightly yard work.
