Finally, a Descendants Chart I Can Use! Thank You, MyHeritage!

As I have been doing descendancy analysis of my 4th great-grandparents, I have been looking for a strategy to show the outcomes graphically.  The countless checklist of descendants shouldn’t be inviting however is searchable!  The everyday “Household View” on on-line household timber and in family tree software program does not allow greater than 5 generations and it’s unimaginable to get them on one display screen.  The 6-generation descendant charts in software program are sometimes many toes huge and fewer than 12 inches excessive.

I remembered as we speak that MyHeritage has a “Solar chart” choice.  Can I exploit that to show, say, six generations of descendants and get it on one web page?  I attempted it for my 4th great-grandparents Humphrey White (1757-1814) and Sibyl Kirby (1764-1848) of Glocester, Rhode Island  Right here is the consequence:

How cool is that?  Besides it is troublesome to learn the names.  And I want I had photographs of everybody on the chart in MyHeritage.  The actually cool issues on this chart, for me:

1)  I can see the place I’ve work to do – which descendants am I lacking?  Most likely the households at 2 to five o’clock on the chart and at 10 o’clock on the chart.

2)  It tells me that there are 300 folks on this chart!  I can depend what number of are in every technology too.  On the picture above, it is proper below the label “Descendants of Humphrey White and Sibyl Kirby” in the midst of the chart.

3)  I can use this chart in my weblog posts about descendants of my 4th great-grandparents!

How did I create this chart?  It was very straightforward – after all I’ve to have the tree in MyHeritage.  Then:

1)  Go to the “Household tree” menu and click on on the “Print charts and books” merchandise:

2)  Choose the kind o chart you need – I selected “Solar chart” and selected “Descendants:”

Additional down the web page I selected the “Primary particular person” merchandise and typed in “Humphrey White” and it let me choose the proper one.  Then the system stuffed within the title of the chart ( and included the partner too!).  I selected “Years of delivery and dying” for the “Information for people.”  For “Generations” I selected 6 generations:

3)  I clicked the orange “Preview chart” button and inside seconds, the chart appeared:

On the prime of the web page, the system advised me it was 6718 x 7363 pixels (about 22″ x 24″ at 300 DPI).  At 100% measurement it’s a very giant chart – maybe 11 pages excessive (the picture on the prime is a 9% magnification!).

Sadly, this household tree on MyHeritage is now 4 months out-of-date and I have been engaged on this line, so I might want to add a brand new GEDCOM file quickly with my newest tree folks and do the chart once more after I do my descendants checklist for Humphrey and Sibyl (Kirby) White.

Simple-peasy.  Simply what I wanted!  Thanks, MyHeritage!!
