“At a marriage service on September 16 within the Presbyterian Church at Tionesta, Pa., Miss Rachel Carringer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion A. Carringer, and Lieutenant (jg) Doyle G. Moye, United States Naval Reserve, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Moye of St. Louis, Mo., had been married.
“The Reverend Harold B. Taylor of the Presbyterian Church at East Brady, Pa., assisted by the Reverend Fred Bennett of the Presbyterian Church at Tionesta, officiated.
“The matron of honor was Mrs. Douglas Burt of Gulfport.
“The most effective man was Grey Henderson of Pittsburgh.
“The bride is a graduate of Bucknell College, class of 1941. The bridegroom is a graduate of the College of Illinois.”

Rachel Montgomery Carringer (1921-2011) was born 11 February 1921 in Tionesta, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Marion Aubrey and June (Herman) Carringer. She died 12 Might 2011 in Tionesta. Doyle Glenn Moye was born 5 Aril 1918 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of James G. and Beatrice Mabel (Holland) Moye. He died 20 September 1993 in St. Clair County, Illinois. Rachel (Carringer) Moye married (2) Robert Andrew Hauth in February 1952.
Rachel Montgomery Carringer is my third cousin 1x eliminated, with frequent ancestors of Martin and Magdalena (Hoax) Carringer.
There are a whole lot of Carringer “tales” in my household tree – and this was one in every of them. Life occurs, by accident and deliberately, and typically a newspaper article tells us one thing concerning the training of the bride and groom.
