This week’s entry is from the San Diego [Calif.] Union newspaper dated 23 June 1918:

“Miss Emily Auble Weds Lyle Carringer, U.S.M.C.
“Mrs. Georgia Ok. Auble has introduced the wedding of her daughter, Emily Kemp Auble, to Lyle Carringer, who’s stationed with the marines in Balboa Park. The marriage happened final Wednesday afternoon on the parlors of the Central Christian church, solely the fast households of the 2 being current on the ceremony, carried out by Rev. W. E. Crabtree.

Lyle Lawrence Carringer (1891-1976) was born 2 November 1891 in San Diego, California, to Henry Austin and Abbie Ardell “Della” (Smith) Carringer. He died 5 November 1976 in San Diego. Emily Kemp Auble was born 19 August 1899 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Georgianna (Kemp) Auble. She died 19 June 1977 in San Diego. They’d one daughter:
* Betty Virginia Carringer (1919-2002), married Frederick Walton Seaver (1911-1983) in 1942.
Lyle L. and Emily (Auble) Carringer are my maternal grandparents,
There are a whole bunch of Carringer “tales” in my household tree – and this was one in all them. Life occurs, unintentionally and deliberately, and generally a newspaper article gives extra element a few couple. I’m glad that I can honor my Carringer grandparents right this moment.
