Aubles in the News – 1925 Obituary for Theodore Auble of Easton, Pennsylvania

 It is time for an additional version of “Aubles within the Information” – a weekly function from the historic newspapers about individuals with the surname Auble (my grandmother’s maiden surname) which are fascinating, helpful, mysterious, enjoyable, macabre, or add info to my household tree database.

This week’s entry is from The Morning Name [Allentown, Penn.] newspaper dated 10 Could 1925:

“Theodore C. Auble

“Theodore C. Auble, a well-known Eastonian, of 105 South Ninth avenue, died instantly at 3:20 o’clock Friday afternoon whereas at work on the Phillipsburg plant of the Ingersoll-Rand firm from coronary heart hassle.  He had been in apparently good well being up to some moments earlier than his demise occurred, and his sudden demise vastly shocked his fellow staff and his large circle of pals.

“Mr. Auble, who was 60 years outdated, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Auble; a son, Raymond Auble, of Wilson borough, and two brothers, Frank P. Auble of Wilson, and Geo. Auble of Belvidere.

“He was a member of the First Baptist church of Easton, of Venderveer Lodge, No. 1105, I.O.O.F, and of the Ingersoll Aid.

“The physique was taken to the house of his son, Raymond Auble, 1950 Lehigh avenue, the place the funeral companies will likely be held.”

This obituary gives a demise date and place, a reason for demise, an age, the names of his spouse, little one, siblings, and there may be some details about his occupation or associations.  

Theodore C. Auble was born 4 August 1864 in Blairstown, New Jersey, the son of Robert and Ellen E. (Hartman) Auble.  He married Mary E. Furman (1866-1927) in about 1892 in New Jersey.  That they had one little one:
*  Raymond Drake Auble (1895-1971), married 1921 Frances Lulu Heath (1890-1948).

I’m a primary cousin thrice eliminated to  Theodore C. Auble.  Our frequent ancestors are my third great-grandparents John Auble (1780-1831) and Anna Row (1787-1860). 

There are tons of of Auble “tales” in my household tree – and this was considered one of them.   Life occurs, by chance and deliberately, and typically an individual dies instantly after a comparatively quick life.   I’m glad that I can honor Theodore C. Auble at the moment.
