To all Individuals To Whom these presents shall come Greeting
Know ye that I Joseph Spaulding of Westminster within the County
of Worcester an Province of the Massachusetts Bay in New England
housewright For and in Consideration of the Sum of Ten kilos
to me in hand earlier than the Ensealing hereof properly and actually paid by
Norman Sever of s’d Westminster within the County and Province aforesaid
Yeoman the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and my
Selfe therewith totally glad & Contented and thereof and of Each
Half and Parcel thereof, do Exonerate Acquit and discharge him the
mentioned Norman Sever his heirs Executors and directors ceaselessly
By these Presents have Given, Granted Bargained Bought aliened Convey-
ed and Confirmed and by these Presents do freely totally and completely
Give Grant Discount Promote aliene Convey and Affirm unto him
the mentioned Norman Sever his Heirs and assigns ceaselessly a Sure Tract
of upland situate Mendacity and being within the Northerly A part of the
abovesaid Westminster and comprises 5 acres and 100 Rods
Begining at a stake and stones advert Runs South forty one Rods and
an halfe to a Stake and Stones then turns West and Runs forty one
Rods and a halfe to a stake and stones, then turns and Runs North
east Sixty Rod to the place it first started, this Land being taken of of
Second Division Lot Quantity Twenty 5 on the Southeast Nook.
To have and to carry the mentioned Granted Bargained Premises With
all of the Appurtenances Privilidges and Comodities to the Similar
Belonging or in any smart appertaining to him the mentioned Norman
Sever hello heirs and assigns for Ever to his and their solely correct use
Profit and Behoof for Ever and I the mentioned Joseph Spaulding
For my heirs Executors and directors do Covenant Promise
and Grant to and with the mentioned Norman Sever his heirs and assigns
that earlier than the Ensealing hereof, I’m the True sole and Lawfull proprietor
of the above bargained Premises and am Lawfully Seized and
Possessed of the Similar in my very own Correct proper as a Good Good
and absolute Property of Inheritance and have in my selfe Good Proper
full Energy and Lawfull Authority to Grant Discount Promote Convey and Affirm
mentioned Bargained Premises in method as aforesaid and that
the mentioned Norman Sever his heirs and assigns shall and should
now and again and always ceaselessly hereafter Peacably
and Quietly have maintain use Possess and Benefit from the mentioned Demised
and Bargained Premises with the Appurtenances free and clear
of all Incumbrances and I the mentioned Joseph Spaulding for
my selfe my heirs Executors and directors do Covenant
and Interact the above demised Premises to him the mentioned
Norman Sever his heirs and assigns towards the lawfull
Claims or calls for of any Individual or Individuals in any respect for
Ever hereafter to warrant and defend by these Presents.  In

This deed is for a 5 acre piece of land in Westminster, Worcester County, that Norman Sever, yeoman of Westminster, purchased from Joseph Spaulding, housewright of Westminster, for 10 kilos lawful cash on 5 July 1776 (and recorded on 5 August 1777).  

Norman Sever (1734-1787) was the son of Robert and Eunice (Rayment) Sever of Sudbury and Westminster, Massachusetts.  He married Sarah Learn (1736-1809) on 14 March 1755 in Sudbury, and so they had 13 youngsters.  Norman and Sarah (Learn) Sever are my fifth great-grandparents by means of their son Benjamin Seaver (1757-1816).
